The first example here shows a New Orleans
“square donut” traditional home. The center
courtyard features gas lanterns, iron work, iron
fountains and iron underfloor vents all
purchased in New Orleans and shipped to the
job site. There are even small manhole covers
cast into the brick courtyard which read “City
of New Orleans”. The iron “lacework” was cast
in original foundries and is similar to what you
might see walking down Bourbon Street in
New Orleans. The home features high ceilings,
curved staircases, extensive interior millwork
and 72 interior and exterior leaded windows
(all clear and beveled glass).
